I understand that the elements are necessary for many important environmental purposes. But, when Rich "The Clumsy Janitor" Ross unleashes a barrage of consecutive buckets and announces that he's going for fifty during a game at Dyckman, someone needs to postpone the rain.
Ross got his nickname from announcer Joe Pope because, like a clumsy janitor, he drops buckets.
Year after year I tend to spend a lot of time up at Dyckman, soaking in the ambience of arguably NYC's top streetball tournament with my camera. Commissioner Kenny Stevens orchestrates a top-notch experience for his fans—and he has a plethora of fans—at Dyckman Park each night.
Last night was my first trip to Dyckman this summer, thanks in part to the weather, and my visit was curtailed due to the rain. The Body Snatchers took on Harlem 4 Life in a game that featured a number of interesting match ups. The foremost of which had to be Body Snatchers guard "Super" Dave Seagers vs Rich Ross of Harlem 4 Life. With "Jiggy" Josh Watkins also in Harlem 4 Life's backcourt and Corey "Homicide" Williams on his way to the park ready to suit up for the Body Snatchers, this game had a lot of promise.
Unfortunately, this game was postponed due to the rain. The subsequent game, which was going to feature Taylor Made (Teanna Taylor's team, which has often featured NBA players), was also called as a result.
I'm looking forward to the next clear day when I can get back up to Dyckman and do some more shooting from the sidelines.
