Respect The Shooter Exhibition Runs Throughout December

Camaradas saw a capacity crowd during the opening of the Respect The Shooter photography exhibition, which is on display through December 31st. Photo by Vincent (instagram: @vinzarate).

The turnout for the opening of my Respect The Shooter photography exhibition on Monday, December 1st at Camaradas was incredible. I was truly blown away by the support from the New York City basketball community, my friends, and family.

Slam Magazine, a publication I have been fortunate to have contributed to over the years, was on hand for the occasion and posted a story about the event and my work on their website. I am thrilled to be featured on their website. Click here to check it out.

From the Lower East Side to Washington Heights, from NYC to Rhode Island and Los Angeles, people from all walks of life made their way to Camaradas for the opening of the exhibit.

I shared the exhibition with my friend and fellow Colgate University alumnus, Alex Woodhouse who featured his Exhibit A street photography. I've had the pleasure of working with Alex on a few projects and it's always great to be around his creativity—musically, visually, and generally.

I'd like to extend my warmest thanks to those who were able to make it to the opening. I was truly touched by the love that was present. Special thanks to Fernando Ruiz Lorenzo who did a terrific job as the curator for the exhibits. It's been a pleasure working with him to piece this all together. I'm also grateful to those who could only be there in spirit, thank you!

There's still time to stop by Camaradas on 2241 1st Avenue (on 115th street) and view the two exhibits. They will be on display through the remainder of 2014, so bid the year farewell with some vivid imagery in East Harlem.

There were limited edition signed posters of my 2009 Dyckman Championship photo available for sale during the opening night and many people have asked about their availability. I will soon make the remaining few available for sale right here on my website. Check back soon for details.

Also, each of the limited edition prints included in the exhibition are available for sale through 2014. For more information contact me directly through the contact form above or email Fernando by clicking here
